FAQ
What's the difference between counselling and therapy?
I would see the main difference between counselling and psychotherapy as relating to the time-scale of the therapy and the level of emotional and psychic depth being worked with. Counselling is often regarded as more short-term work, focussed on the present and often targeting quite specific issues in a goal-oriented way. Psychotherapy, on the other hand tends to be a longer-term endeavour which explores the client’s past life experiences and involves working at greater relational depth on more complex and deep-rooted issues.
The needs and wishes of the client would dictate the kind of therapy offered.

What are the benefits of online therapy?
Online therapy allows you to attend sessions from the comfort of your own home, providing flexibility and eliminating the need for travel. This convenience is paired with a greater sense of privacy, which can make it easier for you to open up. Whether you're busy, on the move, or simply looking for a more accessible option, online therapy provides continuous and effective support for your mental health.

Is online therapy effective?
Absolutely, online therapy is effective for many individuals and couples seeking mental health support. Research has shown that online therapy can be just as beneficial as in-person sessions for a variety of issues, such as anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties. The flexibility of remote sessions means you can connect from anywhere, fitting appointments more conveniently into your schedule. This accessibility often helps clients feel more comfortable and open during sessions.

What therapy models do you use?
I am an integrative therapist, drawing from a range of therapeutic techniques and ideas to provide an individual service to each client according to their specific needs. My approach is relational, meaning that I see therapy as a joint venture in which I work with my clients to help them understand themselves, their motivations, needs and whatever may be holding them back from achieving their goals and enjoying their lives.
